Visit places like the Great American Egg to learn about the business of raising chickens and Jackson’s Corner for a delicious sample of what eating local tastes like.\nAbout the Author:\nSara Rishforth plays ukulele\, loves good food and adores her Kitchen-Aid mixer. After growing up in Greenville\, South Carolina\, she moved west to Alaska\, where she worked for nonprofit organizations\, made great friends and wrote for Alaska’s Best Kitchens magazine. Moving to Central Oregon in 2010\, Sara self-published two novels\, Adventures in Dating and After We Met\, loosely based on her time in the Last Frontier. In return volunteers learn where and how local food is grown while fostering an intimate connection with the food that sustains us all.\nWilling Workers On Local Farms (WWOLF) WWOLF is a community program of Central Oregon Locavore Non-Profit with the goal of lending a hand to small farmers while educating the community about the true nature of local food.\nHow It Works You will meet the group at Boundless Farmstead at 10am or carpool from Locavore at 9:00am sharp. After a round of introductions\, we will split into groups and get to work. We will break for lunch around noon and then return to work until about 3pm.\nWhat to Expect Good times\, new friends\, and a boots-on-the-ground education about local farming practices. Children are welcome with adult supervision. Wille Hall is a big\, beautiful indoor auditorium located on the Bend COCC campus (2600 NW College Way).\nWho is it for? Central Oregon farmers and ranchers looking to sell veggies\, meats\, dairy\, eggs\, honey\, and other locally-grown products. Or pass out brochures and sign folks up for CSA/herdshares.\nWhat is provided? We will provide 1-2 tables and chairs for each vendor\, lined up around the perimeter of Wille Hall. The tables are approximately 3’x5′. The COCC Sustainability Committee will also buy  lunch for all vendors (pizzas and salads from Local Slice and Jackson’s Corner)!\nWhat should you bring?
