DESCRIPTION:How It Works: You will meet the group at Windy Acres Dairy in Prineville at 9am. After a round of introductions\, we will split into groups and get to work. We will end the day with lunch together enjoying products from the farm. \nWhat to Expect: Good times\, new friends\, and a boots-on-the-ground education about local farming practices. We love dogs\, but please leave them at home for this event. Our main task is to improve the fencing that surrounds the dairy so come ready to work. There will also be some lighter projects to meet the needs of all ages and abilities. \nWhat to Bring: Snacks and water\, heavy work gloves\, closed-toe shoes\, layers for the weather\, and sunscreen. Food will be provided for a light lunch or bring your own. We will have a hand washing station and sanitizer for participant use. \nAbout Windy Acres Dairy & Creamery: We are a veteran-owned\, local small business in Central Oregon delivering farm-to-table products like raw grass-fed milk\, butter\, ice cream\, and cream to our members. Additionally\, we make the best raw milk hard cheese in the region and are the only artisan cheese producer in Central Oregon. Our exceptional grass-fed beef & lamb and famous whey-fed pork\, none of which require a herdshare membership to enjoy\, are available throughout the year.
