Do you love fresh, nourishing food and the hard-working souls who make it possible?
We invite you to join us, Friday, May 3rd, at The Tetherow Resort Event Pavilion for an evening of artful and delicious surprise, designed to honor the hardy and dedicated people who grow and raise our food in Central Oregon.
This event will include a photograph narrative of our local farmers and ranchers, a silent auction, local wine, beer and cocktails, and an extensive menu showcasing the bounty of local farms and ranches brought to you by Chef Miguel and the culinary team at Tetherow.

This years theme is Innovation in Farming. As casually observed by many, and truly noticed by few, farmers are the ultimate innovators. From fixing broken machinery, to crafting complex security systems for curious livestock, to gently tricking plants to a higher yield, an extra month of production, or an early germination, farmers and ranchers are the ultimate craftsman. It takes a certain type of ingenuity, or mad genius, to contend with nature. And farmers have just that type of genius it takes. After all, necessity is the mother of creation.

“A good farmer is nothing more nor less than a handy man with a sense of humus.” – E.B. White
“We have neglected the truth that a good farmer is a craftsman of the highest order, a kind of artist.”  Wendell Berry, The Gift of Good Land: Further Essays Cultural and Agricultural
We believe in the power of the land and the people who cultivate it for our well-being. At Central Oregon Locavore, we know that the future of farming and local food will depend upon the support and encouragement that we provide to local farmers and ranchers. Faces of Farming serves to connect those passionate about our sustainability, cultivates strong relationships and celebrates the potential in all of us.
