Why a Grocery Store
Needs Donations

Because we are not built like a typical grocery store. We are 501(c)3 dressed up like a grocery store. Most grocery stores are designed to maximize profit. Locavore is designed to keep farmers in business.

We return about 65¢ of every dollar directly back to farmers, ranchers, and producers.

That’s what makes this work. And it’s also what makes traditional growth impossible.

We will NEVER:

Stock high-margin, highly processed foods to increase profits
Charge farmers to be on our shelves, or obtain premier placement – we rotate everyone equally
Compromise on the quality of what we offer or sell out to “greenwashed” brands

So instead, we do something different.We invite our community to invest in a system that works.
