WWOLF - Willing Workers on Local Farms

WWOLF

WWOLF (Willing Workers on Local Farms) gathers ‘packs’ of volunteers from the community to spend a day working on a local farm. In exchange farmers prepare and share a meal with the volunteers that is made with their very own farm fresh products.

Edible Adventure Crew

The Edible Adventure Crew believes that eating locally doesn’t have to be mysterious, expensive, or difficult. There is great satisfaction in returning to the simplicity of things such as discovering new tastes, harvesting your own food and “putting things up” for the winter months.

DAF Direct makes it easier to support your favorite charities by giving directly from your donor-advised fund. We work directly with Fidelity, Schwab Charitable, BNY Mellow.

What is a DAF? A donor-advised fund (DAF) is a centralized charitable account. It allows charitably-inclined individual, families and businesses to make tax-deductible charitable donations of cash, publicly-traded stock and in some case, certain illiquid assets, to a public charity that sponsors a DAF program.

Become a Board Member

Central Oregon Locavore Board of Directors helps to inform our work. Our board is comprised of local people who are eager to support local food and local farmers for the health of our community and future generations. These folks have a unique perspective to lend: from people with lived experience of food insecurity, to food retailers, to local food volunteers, to community organizers, chefs, farmers and more. Our members come together once each quarter to offer insights and perspective and to learn and share with peers in the food security space with the goal of deepening our collective impact.

Endowments

We are grateful for those who wish to make a lasting impact for Central Oregon Locavore and our mission to support local food, families, farmers, makers and growers. We are available to answer any of your questions or those of your financial planner with regard to donor-advised funds, gifts of stock and securities, establishing an endowed fund, and IRA designated contributions to Central Oregon Locavore.

Corporate Sponsorship

The Corporate Sponsorship program is based on the concept that a rising tide lifts all boats, and supports the interconnectedness of the local foodscape in Central Oregon.

When you become a corporate sponsor you help Locavore to increase the capacity and economic viability of local farmers and ranchers through marketplace sales, product promotion, educational programming, on-farm volunteers, and community engagement through farm-to-table dinners and other events. These efforts help farmers to grow their sales, create and retain employment opportunities, increase wages, and sell products in the community, which fosters a greater connection between the food, the land on which is was grown, and the family that produced it.

Volunteering for Central Oregon Locavore is a rewarding and impactful way to contribute to the community’s local food movement. Volunteering for Locavore offers a chance to actively support sustainable agriculture and foster a connection between consumers and local producers.

Donate Stocks & Securities

In addition to accepting cash donations, we also welcome donations of stocks and securities. Donating appreciated stocks or securities can be a tax-efficient way to support our organization. Donors may avoid paying capital gains tax on the appreciation, and they can also receive a tax deduction for the full market value of the donated asset. This form of giving not only benefits our organization but also offers financial advantages to the donor, making it a win-win for everyone involved.
