Join us for our first EAS of the season with local author and naturalist LeeAnn Kriegh! We will be enjoying the morning appreciating the natural flora and fauna of Central Oregon, learn about the diversity of this ecosystem, and ID plants, animals, birds and other wonders of nature together.
Join us on July 18 at Springbank Farm, a 12-acre organic blueberry operation in Lebanon, Oregon. We will pick blueberries while we enjoy panoramic views near the South Santiam River. Get more details and register here.
Take a walk on July 10 at 10am with weed eater Pearl Stark at Fields Farm to learn about edible weeds of Central Oregon. Share what you know and maybe learn something new. We will see lamb's quarter, purslane, and other common weeds of the area. Find out more and register here.
Join us at Casad Family Farms for an afternoon of gleaning potatoes. We will be scouring the potato fields for left behind spuds and collecting them to donate to NeighborImpact. Participants will get to take home a sack of potatoes as a thank you for their efforts.

How it works: Meet us at Casad Family Farms at 1pm and head out into the potato fields. The main harvest has already been done but there are potatoes left behind that we will be loading into pallet boxes for the food bank. Join us at a neighborhood orchard on Bend's east side to pick apples and have them pressed into cider. Generous friends of Locavore are opening their orchard and bringing their cider press for our use. Hooray! Registration is required and limited, please follow the registration link to sign up.

- Make the trip to Thomas Orchards in Kimberly for a day of fruit picking! Thomas Orchards a scenic drive away and is located along the beautiful John Day River. They expect to have freestone nectarines and peaches, plums, early apples and pears available for picking.

Thomas Orchards is taking precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
