Our Sourcing Practices
Locality of food is the most important and why Locavore will always support local first.
Our vendors must practice organic practices that support healthy soils and ecosystems. The local distributors we use are mindful in their purchasing, and they source from small-scale farmers and producers that follow organic philosophies, and socially responsible practices.
Local Fruits & Veggies
Locavore is passionate about providing local food to its for a multitude of reasons.
Fruits and vegetables begin to lose their nutrients within 24 hours of being picked, so the less travel time for product… the better! Local food is MORE sustainable for the environment by minimizing travel, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and contributing to the improvement of our carbon footprint.
Regionally Sourced Staples
Our local makers offer the best products with the most authentic ingredients. As you browse the aisles, you’ll notice our emphasis on local one-of-a-kind vendors.
Enjoy our broad selections of coffee, tea, spices, honey, vinegar, pet food, wine, and bulk foods. You’ll also find locally made self-care products including soaps, balms and tinctures!
