Edible Adventure Crew presents: Stone Fruits at Kimberly Jam Jam
August 12, 2018 @ 8:00 am - 6:00 pm
What: Group caravan to Kimberly, OR where we will “jam” on over to Thomas Orchards to harvest peaches, nectarines and plums. Thomas Orchards is a minimal spray operation, but not certified organic. It is very, very difficult to grow stonefruit organically, however. Their fruit is absolutely amazing! Join us and see for yourself.
When: Sunday, August 12th at 8:15am the caravan leaves
Where: Meet at Central Oregon Locavore
1841 NE 3rd Street
Drive to Thomas Orchards on Hwy 402 in Kimberly, OR
Once at Locavore, we will figure out car-pooling arrangements. If you have a vehicle with good capacity we would appreciate it if you would consider driving. Please be prepared to provide some gas money for those who volunteer to drive. Thanks!
Who: Led by Abby Kellner-Rode, Board Member
What to bring: Water, hat, sun protection, lunch, money for fruit, and buckets for picking will be provided, but you will need to bring boxes to pack fruit for transport. Boxes to take home WILL NOT be provided by Thomas Orchards.
