Farm Kids

Farm Kids Spring 2021

Farm Kids! is an educational program that collaborates with teachers to educate school-aged children about where their food comes from through experiential, curriculum-based activities including field-trips to local farms and classroom presentations.
  • Spring Field Trips will be held at Windy Acres Dairy in Prineville, DD Ranch in Terrebonne, and Golden Eagle Organics and Juniper Jungle Farm in Bend
  • Farm Kids is geared toward students in kindergarten through second grade
  • Students will be in pods of 10 with a dedicated educator leading them through learning stations at the farm

Field Trip Program Objectives:

  • Teach kids about the various aspects of farming in the high desert
  • Give students a hands-on experience on a working farm
  • Expose students, teachers, and parents to ways that they can access local, healthy foods

Farm Kids will be at Windy Acres Dairy on May 13 (register) and May 14 (register).
Farm Kids will be at DD Ranch on May 20 (register) and May 21 (register).
Farm Kids will be at Golden Eagle Organics on May 27 (register) and May 28 (register).
Farm Kids will be at Juniper Jungle Learning Farm on June 3 (register) and June 4 (register).

The three-hour Farm Kids experience is $30 for the first student and $20 for additional students. Scholarships are available based on need. If you would like information about receiving a scholarship, email gwen@centraloregonlocavore.org.
